Iba Mahr (reggae artist) @BEATSRYMESBLOG

Iba MaHr, the young sensation for authentic Jamaican reggae/ lover’s rock genre. Born January 21, to Ms. Roselin Embden and Mr. Glendon Greaves, he was given the name Mario Greaves at birth but has emerged with strong African culture, thus granted the name by friends, Iba MaHr, ‘Iba’ African name, meaning Humble and Calm while ‘MaHr’ is really an acronym, meaning Mario of Harar, Harar which is a small province in Ethiopia.

As a toddler, Iba MaHr was nurtured by his grandparents, Mrs. Joycelyn Greaves and Mr. Vincent Greaves in the Community of Cheesefield. Always being in the centre of attraction, every Sunday evening Iba MaHr would dance to his grandfather’s stereogram, playing hits from the 70’s, while singing to each song as if they were of his era. It was not until he was successful in his Common Entrance Exam to go on to High School that he moved to reside in Linstead with his mother. Being the only child for Ms. Roselin, iba was the main priority, with morality and education as her advocacy, leaving very little things undone if any. Now the youngman chants from a small town in the parish of St. Catherine called Linstead, that is most popular for the famous “Linstead Market” and the Song titled, “carry mi ackee go Linstead Market”.

After completing secondary education at Charlemont High and sixth form at Dinthill Technnical High, Iba went on to study a Bachelors Degree in Computing and Management Studies at the University of Technology. Even though he had the ability to write songs since going to high school, it was only while in University his peers pushed him to perform his own words.

In 2008, Max ‘Romeo’ Smith of CHARMAX MUSIC released his first song, “HAD IT & LOST IT”, for a various artiste album titled, “DEVIL ON DI RUN”. Later, Phillip ‘Fatis’ Burrell of XTERMINATOR PRODUCTIONS released his second single, “WHERE YOU ARE”. The young sound has also work with great producers and record labels such as, UIM Records, Marlon McCubbin, Bizzarri Records, Jermaine “Lenky” Edwards and more recent Roland “Rollie” McDermot of Rollins Records.

I take pleasure in doing love songs. Essentially, I am inspired to sing about real life occurrences, but in reality as artiste we create melodies then connect words to them to craft stories that reflect other people’s lives. The energy, mood and my emotion at times may affect how a song might turn out. Feelings, be the sombre, joyful or sorrow also play a part. I now see the music making a paradigm shift from roots and culture, not that it has died but just need to be played more. Regardless of what is being played, the people need redemption songs, especially in these times of division and world crisis. I can only say that Reggae music is a medium through which we connect and touch people in any situation, so I work to preserve its legacy”, said Iba MaHr.

The artiste was able to survive the many dangers and harm of his volatile community through advocating love, peace, righteousness and spiritual consciousness. As his name represent, he is quite humble, and does not let anything or anyone trouble his innate calm. With Rastafari as his inspiration, roots and culture is always what he promotes, along with social commentary and soulful-reggae love songs that speaks out to the hearts of peoplethose in love or out of love. Iba MaHr’s music ranges from reggae, lovers rock and soulful roots genre.

Ryo. Rapper/ producer/ music vid director/editor.
You can tell from my bars that I live the life I talk about.
Been on the roads from a young age robberies, shotting, gas, knife, gun crime been through it all. Spent a large part of my life in prison where I honed my craft. Piecing the last 4 bars of wu syndicate beats to make instrumentals to music 2000 on playstation tryna make them original beats coz let's face it I got an original style. Distinctive I've been told.
Not really 1 for punch lines I'm more into getting down to business as I say my music reflects me.
Born and raised on the streets of Ealing west london. I been on this music ting forever started as a ragga artist as I moon lighted as a dj with black adder sound and silent whisper with dj quincy.
I use to sing a bit with my cousin tendai (formerly of unklejam) back in the day too, before my voice broke.
I got into rap in 1999 when I was inside. It was starting to take over from the bashment so I got involved. Many years later the talent is honed and refined and is the product you hear through your speakers when you log on or push in a cd.

about

After a busy 2011 releasing a series of limited edition vinyl 7″ singles Hero Records are back for 2012 with more fat beats and funky grooves.

Kicking things off in fine style is a new single from Frameworks & QNC that we are very excited about. On this dope double-sider of classic hip hop, Manchester producer Matt “Frameworks” Brewer is joined by no-less than legendary New York MCs QNC (aka Q-Ball & Curt Cazal of J.V.C. F.O.R.C.E. fame) to bless his dope beats with their amazing lyrical skills and microphone techniques. Featuring the funk-filled “Ain’t No Use” and the heavier head-nodder “Classic” on the limited edition 7″ vinyl as well as the added bonus of the instrumentals and acapellas on the digital release this single is a must for fans of proper hip hop the way it should be done.

QNC should need no introduction but if you have been hiding under a rock for the last 25 years then they have released singles on seminal labels such as Gee Street and D&D as well as the album “Dynamic Duo” on Grand Central and have been featured on releases by the likes of Aim and Rae & Christian. Phew! Not to be outdone by his MCs, Frameworks will be doing his best to catch up in 2012 by releasing the downtempo Vanish EP featuring vocalists Sabira Jade and Ríoghnach Connolly on First Word Records and an album alongside Blu Rum 13 on My First Moth Records as well as this single full of funky, summery hip hop vibes and dope beats on Hero Records.

Funky & fresh for 2012. Support the artists, buy new music!

MysDiggi - Real uk hip hop artist @BEATSRYMESBLOG

WHO IS MYSDIGGI (fkn MYSTRO)?
These days, urban music artists are a dime a dozen. So much so, in fact, that its a wonder that any can get ahead in what is often a tough journey  especially on an independent level. But as West London-bred rapper MysDiggi proves, where theres a will, theres a way.
Mystro has been honing his craft since very young, when he first began writing rhymes after being inspired by acts ranging from Public Enemy, N.W.A. and De La Soul through to UK pioneers like Gunshot, Hijak and London Posse to name a few, all introduced to a young MysDiggi via a school friends older brother.
After establishing himself on the London open-mic circuit in the late 90s, the Mighty Mys  who is also one half of the Natural Born Spittaz crew alongside regular partner in rhyme Jargon  has built a reputation as one of UK hip-hops brightest vocal talents, releasing a string of critically acclaimed solo singles and EPs, as well as lending his skills to releases by a whos who of British heavy weights, including Blak Twang, Rodney P and Ty.
This impressive track record has led to Mystro recording and performing with a slew of legendary international artists, from Junior Reid and Dawn Penn through to Wu-Tang Clan and KRS-One. Hs also toured extensively from Europe to Australasia, earning a reputation for his razor-sharp wit and refreshing originality both on-stage and in the studio.
The skills dont stop there, though. Mystro is also an in demand Master of Ceremonies, hosting gigs from Dublin to Dubai and earning the title of Best Host award at the UK Hip Hop Awards for two years running. Gaining new notoriety with Spinetv.net  Mystro currently hosts a monthly online series dubbed Mystro Investigates where he delves into popular UK pastimes  everything from horse riding to circus training, acupuncture to laugh classes  for your viewing pleasure. Add gigs for major brands like Nike, Adidas and MTV, charity work and a lead role and writing credits for the play Da Boyz into the mix, and it becomes clear that this Natural Born Spitta is a man of many talents.
Mystro is now hard at work on his debut long player, Mystrogen (which is due to be released in 2012), putting everything hes got into creating a record which is already hotly anticipated from the UK to all the way Down Under. He began feeding the fire in 2009 by with Mystro Presents F.D.T. (F**k Da Taxman), a hard-hitting seven track EP released on his own independent label Dont Biznizz which showcased a darker side to the normally playful M.C.s repertoire.
The next step in the journey towards Mystrogens release was the Digmund Freud EP, which was released in September 2010 through Dont Biznizz and DJ Flips Self Destruct Music. This release saw Mystro engrossed in a one-on-one conversation with his alter ego Dr. Freud, backed by production from Flip, UK hip hop legend Jehst, and Kiss100s DJ Swerve, who cooked up a future classic in the form of first single Around My Way, which was released on 5 July 2010.
Most recently MysDiggi has released a 4 track EP entitled What Type Of Drug Is MYSTROGEN? , which has been released as a free download on www.mysdiggi.com as a thank you to those waiting patiently for the release of his debut LP. This release has production from the likes of Jazz/Dance marvel Mark de Clive-Lowe as well as long time accomplice Black Einstein (C-Swing), DJ Thor & up & comer Twisted Roots, the EP sees the return of the ever comedic F.D.T. radio skits and gives you a little more insight into where Mystro plans to take your mind on the soon to be released long player or drug rather MYSTROGEN.. stay tuned.
Everything Mystro has achieved so far has been done without the aid of management or major label backing  an accomplishment in itself. Armed only with his initiative and undeniable talent, Mystro has bubbled just below the surface for long enough. Now, its time to take it above ground for hip hop fans and good music lovers alike. Dont sleep on the mighty Mystro. Domination is imminentstay tuned.
