Ras Kass Draws Inspiration From 2Pac In “Bishop” Video [Premiere] Premiere: Ras Kass Draws Inspiration From 2Pac In "Bishop" Video Ras Kass A day before the presidential election, West Coast lyricist Ras Kass is speaking his mind while channeling the attitude of one of the ’90s most iconic movie characters. “Bishop” is a song from Ras Kass’ latest album Intellectual Property: #SOI2. He said the new song is “inspired by the socio-political climate of 2016 and the 24-hour news cycle around this election.” With a chorus assisted by Bishop Lamont, Ras brings sharp, irreverent battle rhymes before commenting on current events and referencing 2Pac‘s iconic character of Bishop from the film Juice. SOI2 was released in September and features appearances by KRS-One, Bun B, Sean Price, Killah Priest, Torae, O.C., ONYX and Bumpy Knuckles. The project is billed as a sequel to Ras Kass’ renowned 1996 debut Soul On Ice. On Nov. 26, Ras Kass will release Soul On Ice: Revisited, a remastered 2XLP version as it was originally intended before he says label politics altered the final release. An extra CD will have 21 bonus tracks of lost and unreleased material from the DAT masters. The vinyl pressing will have 400 total copies. Watch the video below, pre-order the digital version on iTunes or cop the vinyl from Blackhouse Records.
